How to Apply a VAT/Tax Code
- On your Dashboard, click into the transaction you want to apply tax to.
- Scroll down to the VAT field in the transaction details panel.
- Enter your specific tax code or percentage (e.g.,
Output 8.1% VATor a specific tax code string used by your accounting software). - Click Save.
How it Syncs to Your Ledger
When you sync this transaction to Xero or QuickBooks (or export it as a CSV Journal), Breezing will automatically pass the VAT code along with the journal entry. This allows you to mix transactions—some with VAT applied and some marked as VAT Exempt—in the same bulk sync, ensuring your accounting software calculates the tax liability correctly on its end!Video Transcript
