The account report shows your crypto activity the way your trial balance does: grouped by general ledger account, with opening balances, period debits and credits, and closing balances. It is the fastest way to tie Breezing out against your accounting system at period end.
Creating an Account Report
- Navigate to Reports and click New Report.
- Set the report type to Account.
- Pick your From and To dates, typically the period you are closing.
- If your company is connected to Xero or QuickBooks, you can enable Reconcile against your platform. Breezing will pull the closing balance per account from your accounting system and compare it side by side.
- Create the report. Generation runs in the background; the report opens from the Reports list when it is done.
Reading the Report
For every general ledger account with activity, the report shows:
- Opening Balance Debits and Opening Balance Credits: the account position at the start of the period.
- Debits and Credits: activity during the period.
- Closing Balance Debits and Closing Balance Credits: opening plus period activity.
- Closing Balance: the net position of the account.
With reconciliation enabled, three more columns appear:
- Your platform’s closing balance for the account (from Xero or QuickBooks).
- Variance: the difference between Breezing’s closing balance and your platform’s.
- A status per account: Matched, Mismatch, Missing in your platform, or Missing in Breezing.
A mismatch usually means unsynced transactions, journal entries created outside Breezing, or a mapping difference. The two “missing” statuses point at accounts that exist on one side only, which typically means the chart of accounts needs a refresh.
Exporting and Managing
- Download CSV exports the full table for your workpapers.
- Regenerate recomputes the report with its original parameters, useful after you fix data or sync more journals.
- Delete removes the report; it does not touch any transactions.
